How to Let Google Know I Have a Business

If you start a business and no one is around to hear it, does it even exist? 🤷‍♂️ Well, very often this is a question many business owners ask themselves. 🤔 What you’re really wondering is, what happens when someone goes to Google my business? 💭

Tell Google “I’m here!”

If you’re a brand new business… OR… you’re a business that’s only just discovered the internet, probably not. 😬 If your business hasn’t been online or around for several years, it’s quite possible Google doesn’t know you. So if they don’t know you, how can they show you? 😅

Well, that’s where GoogleMyBusiness comes into play. This is a website that you can use to tell Google “I’m here!”. 🙋‍♀️ This is done by submitting your information to Google so it can catalog it and add it to its directory.

Now, let’s say you looked yourself up (you vain business owner, you 😏) and Google pulls your business up. Should you still go through this process?

Hey, Google… That’s Not Right!

Yes, you absolutely should! 👍 Are your products, services, prices, and hours of operation correct and up to date? Well, Google may have grabbed an image of the outside of your business from their trucks driving around, but they can’t capture everything.

This is where GoogleMyBusiness comes into play. By registering your business with Google you can manage:

  • Location 🏠
  • Service Areas 🏘
  • Hours of Operation ⌚
  • Special, Seasonal, and Holiday Hours 🎄
  • Phone Number and Email 📞
  • Website 👨‍💻
  • Products, Services, and Costs 🧾

Outside of these, GoogleMyBusiness will also give you access to Analytics, insights, and much more. So it’s well worth the time invested.
