Podcasts for Entrepreneurs

Myssle79 Lists, Podcasts , , ,

Since I’ve slowed down my listening to podcasts, I’ve noticed my motivation dwindling a littel bit. However, I recently discoverd Chris Guillebeau’s newest book Side Hustle, from Lewis Howes’s Instagram account. Being a huge fan of The $100 Startup, and wanting more ways to pay off my loans faster, I immediately preordered it.

Once the book came in, I quickly began devouring its content. One piece of information—before even getting started into the book—was that there was a website dedicated to hustlers called Side Hustle School, so I checked it out. There was a podcast that had been started almost 40 weeks ago. Realizing I haven’t listened to any in quite sometime I decided today’s post should be dedicated to podcasts.

Now this list will be periodically updated as I listen to more and more podcasts, but for now, I will simply put the ones I have listened to personally. I will aslo give my opinion on them as well as who I think should listen to them. So without further adue, here’s my Top Lists of Podcasts for Entrepreneurs.

Top Lists of Podcasts for Entrepreneurs

1. Side Hustle School

There are many reasons this podcast lands on the top of this list, bet here are some of the key reasons.

For one, the podcast is short and action packed, being less than 10 minutes per episode. This is because they are designed for those with a busy lifestyle. This can help get you acquainted to the world of podcasts without being overwhelming and having to dedicate a large amount of time listening to them. Many podcasts are 45 minutes to an hour or even longer and are jam packed full with useful information. So unless you’ve got times to be taking notes, you may miss a lot of what’s in them.

Another great reason to start with this podcast is a side hustle doesn’t require you to quit your day job. They are meant for those who are already busy, but would like a bit of extra income in order to increase their freedom. So if you’ve been considering the entrepreneur life, you can dip your feet in the water first without having to dive head first.

The content is meant to be “interesiting and entertaining” with “replicable lessons” according to Chris. These thought provoking snippets have helped me come up with a few more ideas on how to make some extra cash to accomplish my goals and I believe it can help you to.

2. The Tim Ferriss Show

This is one of my personal favorites and apparently many others’ as well. The Tim Ferriss Show has been ranked consistently in the top business podcasts in iTunes and often number one of over nearly 300,000+ others.

The reason this happens to be my favorite podcast is it’s all about accelerated learning. However, it’s not done in such a way that it’s like an instructor teaching a student. Rather, Tim Ferriss seeks Icons, world-class performers, billionaires and many other accomplished individuals and interviews them attempting to capture their secrets.

This concept was so well liked that although he said his third best-selling book (The 4-Hour Chef) would be his last, he decided to make one more. This book is called Tools of Titans. This book took many of his podcasts and broke them down into one of three categories health, wealth, or wisdom.

If you don’t have the time to read this monsterous book, then listening to the podcast will be quite beneficial.

3. The School of Greatness

This one here I am new to. However, it has quickly pulled me in and so I feel I should add it to this list. Lewis Howes is an amazing person. An ex-football player who had a rough childhood, divorced parents, brother went to jail, and worse. For more about his story check out his website.

His podcast however has a very differnt light. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and you’ll feel feelings you may have never felt or it’s been a long time. All this while learning about some of the most successful individuals on the planet.

More to Come…

As I said, here’s is the start of the list, I will be adding more over time. Let me know what you think of my list. Which of these do you listen to? Whcih ones do you think belong in this list? Let me know in the comments below. Also if you think others could benefit from this, please share with them.
